Pentagon Updates Sept. 11 Plans for Media
The Pentagon will observe a moment of silence at 9:37 a.m. EDT Sept. 11 to pay respect to the memory of comrades lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
In addition to the information in the press advisory released Sept. 3, the Citgo gas station area on the hill overlooking the Pentagon (Joyce St. and Columbia Pike) will be available for media use Wednesday, Sept. 10, 6 a.m. EDT to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The point of contact for access to this site is Navy Lt. Cmdr. Rachelle Logan, (202) 433-2678/2219.
Media may bring satellite vehicles for live broadcasts from the attack site to the Pentagon no earlier than 3 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle tag number, media organization and driver’s name must be submitted by 11 a.m. Wednesday to Glenn Flood, (703) 695-6294; e-mail: glenn.flood@osd.mil. All vehicles and broadcast equipment have to be removed from the Pentagon by 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
