Washington Headquarters Services Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England will make remarks at a ceremony marking the Washington Headquarters Services’ 30th anniversary on Oct. 12, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Center Courtyard.
Washington Headquaters Services (WHS) was established as a DoD field activity on Oct.1, 1977. WHS provides consolidated administrative and operational support to several defense agencies, DoD field activities, the headquarters and various elements of the military departments, the White House, and Congress.
The ceremony will also feature a military band and ceremonial cake cutting.
