The DoD Reserve Family Readiness Awards Program was established in 2000. Family readiness programs are particularly important as we rely on significant numbers of reservists to serve in the Global War on Terror. Family readiness has proven to be a key component of mission readiness. Not only have robust family readiness programs enhanced the deployability of Guard and reserve units, but they also represent one of the vital links in the support networks for reserve families.
