The Department of Defense will mark the 30th anniversary of the All-Volunteer Force on July 1 with a reenlistment ceremony at the White House at 2 p.m. EDT. This event will feature 30 service members from active duty, Reserve, National Guard and Coast Guard taking the reenlistment oath to continue their service in the armed forces.
At the same time, to demonstrate how the All-Volunteer Force represents the society it protects, 650 volunteers from across the country will become the military's newest recruits at 65 special enlistment ceremonies. Local government and military officials will take part in these ceremonies. A special All-Volunteer March, composed by the U.S. Army Band, will be debuted at these ceremonies.
