The Department of the Army announced today that on behalf of Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey Jr., Maj. Gen. William B. Garrett III, commander, U.S. Army Africa will host the inaugural African Land Forces Summit on May 10-14 in Chantilly, Va. The theme for the event is “Adapting Land Forces to 21st Century Security Challenges.”
The summit will provide a forum for senior land forces leaders from the United States and African nations to address mutual interests and concerns. Senior land forces leaders from African nations will have the opportunity to strengthen long-term relationships, openly exchange information on current topics of mutual interest and seek to encourage cooperation in addressing challenges.
