Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey will brief the media at 1 p.m. EDT, April 10, in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) on President Barack Obama’s fiscal 2014 defense budget proposal to Congress. They will be immediately followed by Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller/CFO) Robert Hale and Lt. Gen. Mark Ramsay, director, force structure, resources and assessment, Joint Staff.
Following this briefing and a filing break, representatives from the Department of the Army (3:15 p.m. start time), Department of the Navy (4 p.m. start time), and Department of the Air Force (4:45 p.m. start time) will brief the media in sequential order. Each brief will be no more than 40 minutes in duration with five minutes for turnover; there will be no breaks scheduled in order to file. Media outlets may send more than one reporter.
