Gen. Myers Travels to Europe
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers will attend the change of command ceremony of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium. Marine Corps Gen. James L. Jones will succeed Air Force Gen. Joseph W. Ralston as Supreme Allied Commander, Europe and commander, U.S. European Command.
Myers will continue to Rome for a routine counterpart visit and will visit with U.S. troops. He will then travel to Turkey for a troop visit and meet with his Turkish counterpart and government officials to discuss items of mutual interest and security issues.
