Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host the opening ceremony of the Joint Services Open House at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., at 10 a.m. EDT, Friday, May 17, 2002.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard B. Myers, will join Rumsfeld in the ceremony.
Media who plan to cover the opening ceremonies are advised to contact the Joint Services Open House Joint Information Bureau early this week due to increased security requirements. Satellite or microwave truck access must be arranged through the Joint Information Bureau by Wednesday, May 15. The Virginia Ave. gate will open at 8 a.m. Friday, May 17. Interview requests and any special coverage must be arranged prior to the event through the Joint Information Bureau.
