The V-22 Osprey Program Office at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) will host a press availability Tuesday, May 28, at 1 p.m. EDT, at the Naval Air Station (NAS), Patuxent River, Md. The availability will include an on-the-record program update by Col. Dan Schultz, USMC, V-22 Program Manager, an aircraft photo opportunity and a question and answer opportunity with V-22 test pilot(s) and maintenance officials.
Additionally, a photo pool consisting of two videographers and two still photographers (maximum) will be allowed access to NAS Patuxent River at 9:30 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 29, for photography of return-to-flight testing. Pool members need to be aware that testing schedules are extremely variable and could result in postponement or significant waiting periods. Pool arrangements will be made following the Tuesday press availability.
Interested, credentialed media must respond to Capt. David Nevers at HQMC Public Affairs or Gidge Dady, V-22 Program Office no later than 9 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 28, with their name, social security number or passport number, place of birth and citizenship in order to be included on the list.
Due to security and test safety concerns, only those who have responded by the above time will be processed for access to the facility. Media confirmed on the above list need to be at the Museum of Naval Aviation outside NAS Patuxent River Gate 1 no later than 12:15 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, May 28, for transportation onto the base aboard a government bus. Late-comers and those not on the list will not be admitted.
