Military Community Excellence Grants to be Announced

Fifteen volunteer organizations will receive $50,000 in grants for their innovative programs to improve quality of life for servicemembers and their families. The winners of the 2002 Newman's Own Awards for Military Community Excellence will be announced Wednesday, July 10, at 10 a.m. EDT in a ceremony sponsored by the Fisher House Foundation at the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy John M. Molino, joined by Ken and Tammy Fisher from Fisher House Foundation, Tom Indoe, chief operating officer of Newman's Own, and Dick Howlett, marketing director, Military Times Media Group, will present the awards.
