Cohen, Danzig, Clark to Brief Today on USS Cole Incident
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will make a short statement on accountability and force protection with respect to last October's terrorist bombing of USS Cole today at 3:30 p.m. EST in the DoD briefing room, Pentagon room 2E781.
Immediately following Cohen's statement, Secretary of the Navy Richard Danzig and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark will announce the results of the Navy's investigation into the actions of the ship and crew prior to the bombing.
Interested media representatives may review the Navy's report beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Pentagon room 2E776. The report's contents are embargoed until the briefing has taken place.
