Defense Environmental Security Awards Ceremony Scheduled

The Secretary of Defense Environmental Security Awards will be presented today at 3 p.m. EDT, on the River Lower Parade Field of the Pentagon. Acting Secretary of the Army Joseph Westphal will preside over the ceremony.

Each year the Secretary of Defense honors installations, teams and individuals for outstanding work in DoD environmental programs. This year, eight environmental security awards will be presented in five categories, including: Natural Resources Conservation, Cultural Resources Management, Environmental Quality, Pollution Prevention and Environmental Restoration.
