Force Protection Equipment to be Demonstrated May 8-10
The Force Protection Equipment Demonstration III is scheduled for May 8 through 10 at the Quantico Marine Base. The event is sponsored in part by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics and the the Joint Staff's Directorate of Operations for Combating Terrorism, is a direct result of the 1996 Khobar Tower bombing, and was created by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs to find commercial, off-the-shelf materiel solutions for force protection needs. About 430 vendors will show and demonstrate some 1,500 items of Force Protection equipment.
