SecDef to Host Honor Cordon for Minister of Defense for Chile

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon to welcome Minister of Defense Mario Fernandez of the Republic of Chile, to the Pentagon at 1:00 p.m. EDT, Thursday, May 24, 2001.

The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 12:40 p.m. EDT for the cordon.

Rumsfeld and Fernandez will conduct a brief media availability following their meeting at approximately 1:45 p.m. EDT on the steps of the River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 1:30 p.m. EDT for the availability.
