Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Henry H. Shelton will join President George W. Bush at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2001, at 10:45 a.m. EDT for the 2001 National Memorial Day Ceremony.
President Bush will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns to honor those who have lost their lives in defense of the nation. Following the wreath laying, Rumsfeld will make remarks and introduce the president who will deliver his Memorial Day Address at the Arlington National Cemetery Amphitheater.
