Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon to welcome Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Nobutaka Machimura and Minister of State for Defense of Japan Yoshinori Ohno to the Pentagon at 7:15 a.m. EDT, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon's Corridor Three Entrance no later than 6:30 a.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.
Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Machimura and Ohno will conduct a press briefing at 9:15 a.m. EDT, Saturday, Oct. 29, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579, to discuss U.S.-Japan Alliance Transformation and Realignment.
Journalists covering either event should park in Lane 3 of the Pentagon South Parking Lot and enter through the Corridor Three steps. Those without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Corridor Three Entrance only.
