Army Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will host a joint services full honors arrival ceremony at Conmy Hall, Fort Myer, Va., at 3 p.m. EST, Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in honor of Lt. Gen. Magdy Anwar Radwan Hatata, chief of staff, the armed forces of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Hatata, who arrived in the United States yesterday for a nine-day visit as the guest of Shelton, visited Fort Bragg, N.C., on Feb. 10 and traveled to Fort Hood, Texas, today. Hatata will arrive in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Feb. 12. On Monday, Feb. 14, he will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery at 1 p.m. EST.
Hatata will meet with various senior U.S. military and Defense Department leaders during his time in Washington. He is scheduled to depart the U.S. on Friday, Feb. 18.
