SecDef and Chairman host Armed Forces Day Celebration at the Pentagon
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton. U.S. Army, will co-host a Full Honors Armed Forces Review to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, at 10 a.m. EDT, Thursday, May 18, 2000, at the Pentagon River Parade Field.
The ceremony will also honor approximately 300 "unsung heroes" who are military and civilian employees of the Department of Defense in the National Capital region. The Army's Golden Knights parachute team will conclude the ceremony by parachuting on to the Parade Field.
