Army Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will serve on a panel at the Secretary of State's Open Forum on Thursday, June 15, 2000. The session is open to the public and will begin at 11 a.m. EDT at the Dean Acheson Auditorium, 23rd Street entrance (between C and D streets NW) at the Department of State.
Ambassador David C. Litt, political advisor to the Commander in Chief, United States Special Operations Command, and John J. Hamre, president and CEO for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, will also be panelists.
The theme of the discussion will be "Preparing for the Crisis After Next: Future Visioning in the State Department, the Interagency Process, and the Military."
