Secretary Cohen to attend CENTCOM Change of Command

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Gen. Henry H. Shelton, will participate in a change of command ceremony as Marine Corps Gen. Anthony C. Zinni relinquishes command of U.S. Central Command to Army Gen. Tommy R. Franks on July 6, 2000, at 11a.m. EDT at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in Tampa, Fla.

Cohen will make remarks and Shelton will present Zinni with the Defense Distinguished Service Medal.

Immediately following the ceremony, Cohen will conduct a media availability in Salon Room A of the hotel.
