CONTRACTS

ARMY

United Defense LP, Production Division, Chambersburg, Pa., is being awarded $25,450,000 modification to a firm fixed price contract for the acquisition of 37 Ml09A6 Paladin Self Propelled Howitzers with FY 98 options for 36 or 72 additional units. Work will be performed in Chambersburg, Pa., and is expected to be completed by 31 July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract solicited on 14 January 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAA21-93-C-0044).

NAVY

OHM Remediation Services Corp., Findlay, Ohio, is being awarded a $4,431,932 modification to previously awarded contract N68711-93-D-1459 for all services, labor, equipment and materials required to accomplish environmental remediation of designated Resource Conservation and Recovery Act closure sites, above- ground storage tanks and oil/water separators located at various sites at Marine Corps Air Station, Tustin, Calif. The basic total contract amount is not-to-exceed $250,000,000. Work will be performed in Tustin, Calif., and is expected to be completed by July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

Ocean Marine Navigation Co., Annapolis, Md., is being awarded a $149,967,998 firm-fixed-price contract to procure, convert and operate a ship under Phase II and III of the Maritime Prepositioning Force (Enhanced) Program. Under Phase II, an existing Grenadian flagged container ship will be converted to a roll-on/roll-off vessel, reflagged in the U.S. and renamed USNS LCPL Roy M. Wheat. Phase III will be the operation and maintenance of that ship for the first five years following delivery to the Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C. Work will be performed in Mobile, Ala., and the expected to be completed by November 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was

competitively procured with five proposals solicited and four offers received. The Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00033-97-C-4005).

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space, Sunnyvale, Calif., is being awarded a $15,602,079 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for FY97-98 Strategic Capability Preservation (SCP) in support of Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBM) reentry systems. Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. This contract was not competitively procured. Contract funds in the amount of $2,081,462 would have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00030-97-C-0034).

Kearfott Guidance & Navigation Company, Wayne, N.J., is being awarded a $6,282,468 fixed-price-incentive contract to provide 15 Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) and 11 IMU ICPM hardware sets for the TRIDENT II (D5) missile MK-6 guidance system. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J., and is expected to be completed by April 1999. This contract was competitively procured with two proposals solicited and two offers received. Contract funds in the amount of $2,236,274 would have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00030-96- C-0097).

AIR FORCE

Vitro Services, Corp., Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $126,823,157 cost plus award fee contract to provide for FY 1997-2000 operation and maintenance of the test range and technical facilities at Eglin AFB, Fla. The work will be performed at Eglin AFB, Fla. Contract is expected to be completed September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 28 firms solicited and 3 proposals received. Solicitation began November 1996; negotiations were completed March 1997. Air Force Development Test Center, Eglin AFB, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08635- 97/C-0002).

United Technologies Corp., West Palm Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $79,660,000 face value increase to a firm fixed price contract to provide for spare parts in support of the F117 engine on the C-17 aircraft. The work will be performed at United Technologies Corp., East Hartford, Conn. Contract is expected to be completed June 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608- 97/D-0015).
