CONTRACTS
Siebe Government Services, Grand Prairie, Texas, is being
awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract
(appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each
delivery order) with a not-to-exceed $75,000,000 total, for
maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation (MRR) of government
installations and facilities at various locations in the United
States and Puerto Rico. Tasks for this project include: a site
survey; feasibility study; a work plan; and maintenance, repair,
and rehabilitation. Work will be performed in the United States
and Puerto Rico (90%), and Grand Prairie, Texas (10%), and is
expected to be completed by May 28, 2002. There were 125 bids
solicited on Dec. 23, 1996, and 11 bids were received. The
contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
Huntsville, Ala. (DACA87-97-D-0050).

Raytheon Electronic Systems, Marlborough, Mass., is being
awarded a $7,343,430 firm fixed price with time and materials
contract for the Multiplexer Integration and Digital
Communication Satellite Subsystem Automation System (MIDAS), to
provide multiplexing and switching functions while occupying
substantially less floor-space than the current equipment it
replaces. MIDAS will replace several types of existing discrete
multiplexers and transmission
security devices by emulating the functions of those units. Work
will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va., and is expected to be
completed by June 15, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on
the electronic bulletin board on March 10, 1997, and two bids
were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army
Communications and Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J.
(DAAB07-97-C-D014).
NAVY
CMS Defense Systems, Inc., Titusville, Fla., is being
awarded a $9,670,000 fixed-price contract for
production of the Shoulder Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon
(SMAW) Common Practice Encased All-up Round for the U.S. Marine
Corps. This contract contains options which, if exercised, would
bring the cumulative value of this contract to $78,179,318. Work
will be performed in Titusville, Fla. (10%), and Camden, Ariz.
(90%), and is expected to be completed by September 2002.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This contract was competitively procured with five
proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Surface
Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, Va., is the
contracting activity (N00178-96-C-1031).
Trader, Inc.,* New Bern, N.C., SEEMA, Inc., Hampton, Va.,
and L.A. Downey and Sons,* Newport, N.C., are being awarded a
$15,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/ indefinite
quantity solution order concept contract to provide alterations,
renovations and repair of barracks, administrative and personnel
facilities, warehouses and other similar types of facilities with
some minor construction and incidental related work located
within the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C. area.
This acquisition was solicited with multiple award provisions.
These three contracts may compete for each task order under the
terms and conditions of the existing multiple awardee contract.
The total contract amount is not to exceed $45,000,000 (base year
and two option years). Work will be performed in and around
Cherry Point, N.C., and is expected to be completed by May 2000.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. This contract was competitively procured with 71 proposals
solicited and seven offers received. The Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va., is the
contracting activity (N62470-97-D-9996).
AIR FORCE
McDonnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a
$ 19,565,000 firm fixed price contract to provide for conversion
of 172 Inboard Pylons configured for the F-15A/D aircraft to
support the F-15E aircraft. The work will be performed at
McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis, Mo. (25%) and at its Helicopter
Division in Mesa, Arizona (75%). Contract is expected to be
completed December 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the
end of the current fiscal year. There was one firm solicited and
one proposal received. Solicitation began October 1996;
negotiations were completed May 1997. Warner Robins Air
Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga., is the contracting activity
(F09603-96/G-0015-0003).
