ARMY

R. P. Richards Inc., Santa Barbara, Calif., is being awarded $6,995,000 as part of a not-to-exceed $7,344,950 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a standard design 501-800 person dining facility with carry-out. The dining facility includes dining room, serving line, kitchen, dish washing, refrigerators, freezer, dry storage, offices, janitor's closet, restrooms, mechanical room, electrical room, a loading dock and air conditioning to provide 395,000 watts of cooling. This package includes maintenance (service contract) of air conditioning, fire sprinkler, fire alarm and electrical distribution systems, as well as 12 months of project administration for a period of two years after beneficial occupancy. Work will be performed at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 9, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 238 bids solicited on July 25, 1997, and seven bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Shafter, Hawaii (DACA83-98-C-0001).

Stewart & Stevenson Services Inc., Sealy, Texas, is being awarded a $22,415,403 firm-fixed-price contract for 125 family of medium tactical vehicles. Work will be performed in Sealy, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 11, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-97-D-X009).

Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $5,300,000 firm-fixed-price contract for services for technical support, equipment and software for CTS800-54 engine installation in UH-1H helicopters in support of the U.S. Army Aviation Technical Test Center (USAATTC) at Fort Rucker, Ala., and the Army National Guard. The contractor shall provide a Federal Aviation Administration certified new technology engine system, including flight test support, to be installed in two UH-1H aircraft for flight test evaluation by the USAATTC. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind. (40%); West Hartford, Conn. (30%); and Phoenix, Ariz. (30%), and is expected to be completed by Jan. 14, 2001. Contract funds will

not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Aug. 21, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Test & Evaluation Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. (DAAD05-98-C-0002).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

General Construction Co., Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a $50,000 increment as part of a $10,000,000 (total not-to-exceed $14,770,000 if all options are exercised) firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a behavioral flume at Bonneville Lock and Dam in Skamania County. Work will be performed in Stevinson, Wash., and is expected to be completed by March 1, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 150 bids solicited on Aug. 25, 1997, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland, Ore. (DACW57-97-C-0002).
