ARMY

Bechtel National Inc., San Francisco, Calif., is being awarded $7,187,029 as part of a $7,886,547 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Technical Test Bed (TTB) and Site Security Enhancements (SSE) for Russian Federation (RF) Ministry of Defense (MoD) Nuclear Weapon Storage Sites. Work will be performed in Sergiev Posad, Russia (90%); and Northern Virginia (10%), and is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 23 bids solicited on May 30, 1997, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Special Weapons Agency Activity, Alexandria, Va. (DSWA01-98-C-0014).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Hendry Corp., Tampa, Fla., is being awarded a $1,000 increment as part of a $5,183,250 (total $6,654,750 if all options are exercised) firm-fixed-price contract for the removal of shoals in several cuts of Tampa Harbor with an estimated quantity of 1,358,000 cubic yds. Effort also includes repair of portions of dikes and weirs in the Upland Disposal Area. Work will be performed in the Tampa Harbor area and is expected to be completed by April 15, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 36 bids solicited on Oct. 2, 1997, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville, Fla. (DACW17-98-C-0004).

NAVY

  • Avondale Industries, Inc. (AII), Shipyard Div., New Orleans, La., is being awarded a $209,955,156 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-93-C-2205 to exercise options that provide for the detail design and construction of a Strategic Sealift Ship (T-AKR), provisioning technical documentation (PTD), provisioned item order (PIO), technical manuals, crew orientation and familiarization, and data. Work will be performed in New Orleans, La., and

National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. (NASSCO), San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $196,020,263 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-93-C-2203 to exercise options that provide for the detail design and construction of a Strategic Sealift Ship (T-AKR), provisioning technical documentation (PTD), provisioned item order (PIO), technical manuals, crew orientation and familiarization, and data. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded an $80,573,293 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-95-C-2101 to exercise options for funding for operational ship support services for OHIO Class and new construction and operational support services for SEAWOLF Class Submarines. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 1998. Contract funds in the amount of $76,464,653 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Hughes Missile Systems Co., (HMSC), Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $37,101,600 firm-fixed-price production contract for production of the MK 49 Mod 0 Guided Missile Launching System for the Rolling Airframe Missile Program. A quantity of eight launching systems is being procured by this contract. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (50%) and Ottobrunn, Germany (50%), and is expected to be completed by August 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-98-C-5412).

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $32,355,658 firm-fixed-price contract for the FY 98 Special Progressive Aircraft Rework (SPAR) and related Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for the VH-3D and VH-60N helicopters utilized for the Executive Helicopter Program. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds in the amount of $14,734,681 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-97-C-0001).

AOT MD Inc., Waldorf, Md., is being awarded a $13,391,261 cost-plus-fixed-fee, level of effort, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering support services in support of various programs at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., and other federal agencies. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $70,106,502. Work will be performed in Indian Head, Md., and is expected to be completed by November 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 150 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity (N00174-98-D-0004).

VSE Corp., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $13,090,719 cost-plus-fixed-fee, level of effort, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for engineering support services in support of various programs at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., and other federal agencies. Work will be performed in Alexandria, Va. (80%), and Indian Head, Md. (20%), and is expected to be completed by November 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 150 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity (N00174-98-D-0005).

McDonnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded an $8,711,863 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-92-C-0057 to provide additional funding for the definitization of Fatigue Test Article, electronic warfare hot mock-up lab and installation, and data for the Swiss Air Force F/A-18C/D aircraft under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo., and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corporation, St Louis Missouri, is being awarded a $88,088,469 firm fixed price contract for APG-63 Radar, Low Rate Initial Production, Option Exercise. Contract is expected to be completed in December 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of current fiscal year. The solicitation was issued in January 1997 and negotiations were completed in July 1997. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is the contracting activity F33657-97-C-2044, P00001.

McDonnell Douglas Corporation is being awarded a $13,147,955 firm fixed price contract for FY98 portion of the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) support of the C-17 Air Crew Training System. Contract is expected to be completed in September 1998. Contract funds will expire at the end of current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio is the contracting activity F33657-88-C-0029, P00102.

DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY

MCI Telecommunications Corp., McLean, Va., is being awarded a $10,587,828 firm-fixed price with economic price adjustment contract for leased commercial communication services from Andrews AFB, Md. to Capodichino, Italy to support common users for command and control circuit requirements and Defense Switched Network traffic. The contract includes optional addition of a T-1 trunk. The contract covers a five-year base period for each service, with five one-year options. $2,883,474 will be initially obligated. The contract was competitively awarded. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott AFB, Ill. is the contracting activity (Telecommunications Service Request XH20AUG973020).
