AIR FORCE
Hughes Information Systems Co., Reston, Va., is being awarded an $84,760,754
cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for the Global Broadcast Service (GBS)
Phase II System effort. This effort acquires system integration support for the
GBS System, integration with satellite segment and user applications, and
hardware, software, installation support for transmit and receive suites.
The work will be performed at Hughes Information Systems Co. (69%) as well as
other locations. Contract is expected to be completed September 2003.
There were 4 firms solicited and 4 proposals received. Solicitation began
May 1997; negotiations were completed November 1997. At this time, $10,826,400 of
the contract funds have been obligated. Contract funds will not expire at the end
of the current fiscal year. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles,
Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-97/C-0044).
Parker Hannifin Corp., Irvine, Calif., is being awarded a $7,991,640
requirements-type contract to provide for repair of 700 Horizontal Tail Flap
Integrated Servo-Actuators (ISA), 150 Rudder ISA units, and 30 Electro Hydraulic
Valves, all applicable to the hydraulics system on the F-16 aircraft. Funds will
be obligated on individual delivery orders. Contract funds will not expire at the
end of the current fiscal year. There were 7 firms solicited; one proposal
received. Solicitation began February 1997; negotiations were completed October
1997. Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB, Utah, is the contracting activity
(F4262098/D-0012).
ARMY
Rocky Mountain Materials and Asphalt Inc.*, Colorado Springs, Colo., is being
awarded $15,000,000 as part of an estimated $45,000,000 (if all options are
exercised, base year plus three years) indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery
order contract for repair of roads/pavements at Fort Carson, Falcon Air Force
Base, Peterson Air Force Base and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Work will be
performed in Colorado Springs, Colo., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31,
2000. Appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery
order. There were 29 bids solicited on Aug. 14, 1997, and three bids were
received. The contracting activity is the Directorate of Contracting, Fort
Carson, Colo. (DAKF06-98-D-0002).

Raytheon Mediterranean Systems Co., Tewksbury, Mass., is being awarded a
$10,582,043 modification (to definitize a letter contract) to a firm-fixed-price
with cost-plus-fixed-fee/contract line-options contract for logistics engineering
assistance and technical assistance for the country of Egypt. Work will be
performed in Tewksbury, Mass., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2001.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a
sole source contract initiated on Dec. 10, 1996. The contracting activity is the
U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. (DAAH01-97-C-0109).
Duncan Aviation*, Lincoln, Neb., is being awarded a $15,758,230 modification to a
firm-fixed-price/cost-reimbursable contract for contractor operated and maintained
base support for airplanes. Work will be performed at various sites in the
continental United States, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 1998.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were
61 bids solicited on March 18, 1994, and four bids were received. The contracting
activity is the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala.
(DAAJ09-94-C-0415).
