ARMY

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Norfolk Dredging Co., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded a $5,751,819 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery, fixed-price construction contract (multi-year) for maintenance dredging of Elizabeth Channel. Work will be performed in Newark Bay, N.J., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 57 bids solicited on Feb. 19, 1998, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York, N.Y. (DACW51-98-C-0030).

AIR FORCE

TRW, Incorporated, Redondo Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $27,900,000 face-value-increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to definitize the Space Based Infrared System Low Program Flight Demonstration System contract. The work is expected to be completed October 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-92/C-0062, P00096).

Logicon Research and Development Associates, Los Angeles, Calif., is being awarded a $30,000,000 cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for advisory and assistance services in support of the Airborne Laser Program. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The work is expected to be completed September 1998. There were 19 firms solicited and one proposal received. Solicitation began February 1998; negotiations were completed March 1998. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif. is the contracting activity (F04701-98/D-0100, 0001).

NAVY

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, Baltimore, Md., is being awarded an $18,079,060 firm-fixed-price contract for repair/rehabilitation to Bancroft Hall, (Phase V), at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Work will be performed in Annapolis, Md., and is expected to be completed by April 1999. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 50 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, DC, is the contracting activity (N62477-96-C-0096).

Standard Missile Company, McLean, Va., is being awarded a $13,445,051 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-97-C-5353 for FY 98 requirements for the Standard Missile - 2 Block IIIB Service Life Extension Program and ten FY 98 SM-2 Block IIIB modification kits. This modification increases the total value of the contract to $184,714,443. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (81%), McLean, Va. (18%), and Camden, Ark. (1%), and is expected to be completed in April 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
