Metron, Inc., Reston, Va., is being awarded a $6,259,854 task order for technical support in the development, documentation, testing and installation of the Navy Simulation System. This order provides technical support in the areas of modeling and simulation (M&S); command and control; fusion; situation assessment; and planing through exploitation, development and assessment of M&S and prototype-based functional capabilities for fleet applications. The work will be performed in Reston, Va., and is expected to be completed in May 1999. Contract funds in the amount of $75,000 will expire at the end of the fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured through a broad agency announcement. The Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00014-97-D-2016) (task order 0002).


Allied Signal Inc., Olathe, Kan; Honeywell Inc., Albuquerque, N.M.; Honeywell Inc., Clearwater, Fla., Teledyne Controls, Los Angeles, Calif., and Rockwell Collins Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, are being awarded a $496,824,000 firm-fixed-price contract for production of the Traffic Alert Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and the Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) applicable to multiple aircraft, and associated warranties and support services. The maximum quantities are 1257 TAWS systems and 1331 TCAS systems. Initial obligations are as follows: Allied Signal, $213,100; Honeywell, Albuquerque, N.M, $79,583; Honeywell, Clearwater, Fla., $29,500; Rockwell Collins, $151,049; and Teledyne Controls, $74,241. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. Delivery orders will be issued subject to government evaluation according to criteria established in the contract. Delivery orders can be issued up to the quantity and dollar amount maximums for each system listed above. There were 5 firms solicited and 5 proposals received. Expected contract completion date is 2007. Solicitation issue date was March 21, 1998. Negotiation completion date was May 15, 1998. Solpac Inc., d.b.a. Soltek Pacific, San Diego, Calif., was awarded on May 21, 1998 $19,348,410 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of approximately 117,000 square feet, two story steel frame building with stucco exterior and title roof. Exterior features include parking lot, access road and landscaping. Interior features include raised floor system, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical. Work will be performed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Dec 15, 1999. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a broad agency announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on May 3, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles, Calif. (DACA09-98-C0027).
