ARMY

Alliant Techsystems Inc., Hopkins, Minn., was awarded on June 12, 1998, a $9,462,452 firm-fixed-price contract (base amount is $8,005,362, with $1,457,090 option), to procure components of the M87A1 VOLCANO Canister Assembly. The two items are 31,500 units of the Electronics-Magnetic Coupling Device (E-MCD) Assembly and 31,500 units of the Borerider Pin Release Mechanism (BPRM). This award also includes an option for 5,296 units of each component. Work will be performed in Hopkins, Minn. (14.33%); Janesville, Wis. (11.34%); Horsham, Pa. (6.21%), and at various other locations in the continental United States (68.12%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 2, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-98-C-1069).

Raytheon Technical Services Co., Vienna, Va., is being awarded a $1,500,000 increment as part of a $7,174,330 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the elimination of heavy bombers and Air-launched Cruise Missiles (ALCMs) in the Ukraine. Work will be performed in the Ukraine, and is expected to be completed by April 12, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were four bids solicited on April 23, 1998, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Special Weapons Agency, Alexandria, Va. (DSWA01-98-C-0117).

AIR FORCE

Northrop Grumman Corp., Pico Rivera, Calif., is being awarded a $9,900,000 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee-contract to provide for equipment required to provide maintenance and repair capability for the halon fire extinguishing system, auxiliary power units, and the port transducer units on the B-2 aircraft. Expected contract completion date is December, 1999. Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, tinker AFB, Okla., is the contracting activity (F33657-87-C-2000/P01012).

Alphatech Inc., Burlington, Mass., is being awarded a $5,911,453 cost-plus-fixed-fee-contract to provide for the Dynamic Situation Modeling (DSM) program. The DSM program seeks to develop a framework for producing a continuously updating dynamic situation estimate of the battlespace. Expected contract completion date is March, 2000. Solicitation issue date was September 10, 1997. Negotiation completion date was May 12, 1998. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-98-C-1314).

Melton Sales and Services, Inc., Bordentown, N.J., is being awarded a $9,288,153 firm-fixed-price-contract to provide for repair of diesel engines on ground support equipment and associated components. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. There were 50+ firms solicited and 3 proposals received. Expected contract completion dates shall be determined on individual delivery orders. Solicitation issue date was January 29, 1998. Negotiation completion date was May 4, 1998. San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Kelly AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41608-98-D-0493).

Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $27,156,000 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price-contract to provide for support through January 2000 for the C-130J aircraft. This effort includes data, manuals, interim contractor support, logistics support analysis, and the reliability and maintainability program. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Expected contract completion date is January 31, 2000. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-95-C-2055-P00013).
