AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Astronautics, Denver, Colo., and Universities Space Research Association, Columbia, Md., are being awarded a $9,000,000 (Total Program Value) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity-contract to provide for studies and research projects in support of the Space Vehicles Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. This effort will seek to investigate long-term technology solutions in the areas of spacecraft dynamics and structural systems, space power, protection technologies, satellite control, remote sensing, advanced concepts, space environment, phenomena and effects, and spacecraft design, integration and manufacturing. Solicitation was posted on the Air Force Research Laboratory Phillips Research Site, there were eight proposals received. Expected contract completion date is August 2003. Solicitation issue date was December 19, 1997. Negotiation completion date was July 17, 1998. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, NM., is the contracting activity (F29601-98-D-0210, Universities Space Research Association; F29601-98-D-0211, Lockheed Martin Astronautics).

NAVY

Harris Corp., RF Communications Div., Rochester, N.Y., is being awarded a $17,911,760 firm-fixed-price contract for the delivery of high frequency radio group (HFRG) broadband radio systems. High frequency radio group is used as a back-up to satellite systems, and to communicate with our NATO allies. HFRG provides remotely controlled, rapidly tunable, reliable broadband ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore communications in the 2-30 MHz frequency spectrum. This contract contains options which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value of this contract to $90,679,182. Work will be performed in Rochester, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by April 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured on the world wide web and one offer was received. The Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-98-C-0031).

AlliedSignal Technical Service Corp., Columbia, Md., is being awarded a $5,770,451 cost-plus-fixed-fee term contract for engineering and logistics services to support the LAMPS MK III AN/SRQ-4 data link. Work will be performed in Columbia, Md. (80%), and St. Inigoes, Md. (20%), and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 38 proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-98-C-1270).
