Interstate Steel Supply Company**, Philadelphia, Pa., is being awarded an estimated $6,195,387 fixed-price-with-economic-price-adjustment, indefinite-quantity contract for metals and metal products. Six hundred thirteen proposals were solicited and eight were received. Work will be performed in Philadelphia, Pa; Canton, Mass.; Warminster, Pa.; Kent, Wash.; Kennesaw, Ga.; York, Pa.; Manchester, Conn.; Sante Fe Spring, Calif.; and Plantation, Fla.; and is expected to be completed by March 9, 2000. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Industrial Supply Center, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0500-98-D-0015).


Team SBL IFX Joint Venture, Canoga Park, Calif., was awarded on Feb. 8, 1999, a $125,000,000 cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for the first increment (February 1999-February 2000) of the Space Based Laser Program's Integrated Flight Experiment project. The project will mature and integrate the component technologies and will include a component and system-level test program leading to a proof-of-concept-on-orbit demonstration. The first increment involves accomplishment of an overarching high energy laser architecture and affordability study to determine requirements to define a cost-effective ballistic missile defense capability, completion of ongoing risk reduction technology, and development of an Integrated Program Execution Plan. This effort will be performed by Joint Venture team members; The Boeing Company, Canoga Park, Calif.; Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and TRW, Inc., Redondo Beach, Calif. Expected contract completion date is February 2000. Negotiation completion date was Feb. 10, 1999. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-99-C-0026).

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $74,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide for systems engineering and technical assistance from Feb. 10, 1999, through Feb. 9, 2004, in support of a range of

systems and programs. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. There were 89 firms solicited and three proposals received. Expected contract completion date is Feb. 9, 2004. Solicitation issue date was Nov. 5, 1998. Negotiation completion date was Dec. 7, 1998. United States Air Forces in Europe Contracting Squadron, Ramstein AB, Germany, is the contracting activity (F61521-99-D5000).
