Rockwell Collins Government Systems Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contract (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order) with a not-to-exceed cumulative total of $21,951,000 for the purchase of part of the AN/ARN-147 radio receiving set, receiver and control over a five year period of performance. Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 17, 2004. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 3, 1998. The U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAB07-99-D-5403).


The DD 21 Alliance, comprised of Bath Iron Works Corp., Bath, Maine, and Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, Miss., is being awarded a $12,000,000 agreement modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-9-2300 for the acceleration of the DD 21 advanced gun system development. Bath Iron Works Corp. has been selected by the DD 21 Alliance to lead the Alliance and execute this modification. Two competing teams will perform the work: the "blue team" led by Bath Iron Works with Lockheed Martin Government Electronics Systems and the "gold team" led by Ingalls Shipbuilding with Raytheon Systems Co. and United Defense Limited Partnership. Work will be performed in Minneapolis, Minn. (80%); Pascagoula, Miss. (10%); and Bath, Maine (10%), and is expected to be completed by October 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.


McCarthy Improvement Company, Davenport, Iowa, is being awarded a $7,755,681 firm fixed-price contract to provide for renovation of the taxiway at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. This effort will include removal of the existing six-inch asphalt pavement, construction of an 18-inch thick concrete taxiway with groundwater drains and installation of edge lights. The work is expected to be completed Oct. 1, 1999. 5th Contracting Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, N.D., is the contracting activity (F32604-99-C0004).

Lockheed Martin Corporation, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, Palmdale, Calif., is being awarded a $10,315,981 face value increase to a firm fixed-price contract to provide for 12 Single Configuration Fleet Service Bulletin Kits, associated test and spares, and one Maintenance Trainer Unit in support of the F-117 aircraft. The contract completion date is July 28, 2000. At this time, $9,190,981 has been obligated. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-98-D-0117, Order 000302).

Honeywell, Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is awarded an Other Transaction for $10,466,632 for development and delivery of 15 high-performance, radiation-hardened, computer processors and support chips for use in space applications. At this time $2,100,000 has been obligated. The contract performance period is 32 months. An Other Transaction is a unique contracting authority that permits greater flexibility to negotiate contract terms under special circumstances such as this program. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., is the contracting activity (F29601-98-9-0193).
