Lockheed Martin Corp., Launching Systems, Baltimore, Md., is being awarded a $6,836,942 cost-plus-award-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-94-C-5316 to provide design agent engineering efforts to support ongoing product improvements and new missile incorporations, as well as continued design agent engineering support, for the electronics, computer software, and system integration aspects of the MK 41 vertical launching system. Work will be performed in Baltimore, Md., and is expected to be completed by December 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.


Coakley & Williams Construction Inc., Gaithersburg, Md., is being awarded $8,398,000 (base year total) as part of an $8,953,000 (total if all options are exercised) firm-fixed-price contract to design/build a two-phase 144-person dormitory. The facility will provide living quarters to single, unaccompanied enlisted personnel and will have a TV lounge, game room, laundry room, vending area, storage space and a dormitory manager office. In addition to the dormitory facility, a new softball field and a track field shall be constructed to replace the existing fields at the site. Site work also includes parking lots for the dormitory and the softball and track fields. Utilities including gas, water, sewer, and electricity will be required to support the facility. Work will be performed at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 18, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 111 bids solicited on May 1, 1998, and nine bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa, Okla. (DACA56-99-C-0013).


Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, Inc., Littleton, Colo., is being awarded a $70,700,000 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for one Atlas IIIB commercial space launch vehicle and associated launch services. Expected contract completion date is May 2002. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-96-C-0002-P00026).
