DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Bird Products Corporation, Palm Springs, Calif., is being awarded a $5,092,000 firm-fixed price indefinite-quantity contract for portable volume ventilators. Six proposals were solicited, and five were received. Work is expected to be completed by April 14, 2000. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0200-98-D-8705).

ARMY

Primex Technologies Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla., is being awarded a $12,399,012 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE30-95-C-0086 for 120 mm M829A2 armor-piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding sabot-tracer cartridges. This award is for an additional quantity of 3,260 cartridges and a royalty payment for the 8-ply value-engineering change proposal for 9,660 rounds. Work will be performed in Red Lion, Pa. (63.44%), and St. Petersburg, Fla. (36.56%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on May 26, 1994. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., is the contracting activity.

Bill Harbert Construction Co. Inc., Birmingham, Ala., is being awarded a $44,783,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a new barracks complex consisting of one barracks building, one dining facility, one eight-bay company operations building, one brigade headquarters building, four battalion buildings and one field-food-service storage building. The project will also require site development of 100 acres with excavation, roadwork, outdoor sports playing surfaces, parking area, fencing, landscaping and utilities. Work will be performed in Fort Campbell, Ky., and is expected to be completed by March 24, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 209 bids solicited on Dec. 15, 1998, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Ky., is the contracting activity (DACA27-99-C-0019).

NAVY

Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, Patuxent River, Md., is being awarded a $29,979,358 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the procurement of nine operation test program sets in support of the V-22 Osprey program. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (40%); Philadelphia, Pa. (30%); and Fort Worth, Texas (30%), and is expected to be completed by April 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, N.J., is the contracting activity (N68335-99-C-0216).

McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, McDonnell Aircraft Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $6,108,647 firm-fixed-price order against a basic ordering agreement for non-recurring engineering, validation and verification efforts for F/A-18A+B+ avionics upgrades for the U.S. Marine Corps. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo., and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-98-G-0035).

Veridian Engineering, Inc., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $5,159,046 modification to previously awarded contract N00421-96-C-1134 to exercise an option for services to support the Force Aircraft Test Squadron at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md. The total estimated level of effort for this option period of performance is 111,350 man hours. No funding will be obligated at time of award. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md. (90%), and Lexington Park, Md. (10%), and is expected to be completed by June 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-96-C-1134).
