Allied Signal Technical Services Corp., Columbia, Md., is being awarded a $23,426,922 cost-plus-fixed-fee-term contract for services support to provide research and development expertise in the area of program management, documentation, system engineering, space and aerospace systems, ground systems, technology transfer, facilities support, quality control, power system development, radio frequency support, integration and test activities, computer networking and system administration, equipment maintenance and advanced concept exploration, and associated efforts required by the Space Systems Development Department (SSDD) to complete current programs and to support future SSDD projects and programs. This contract contains options, which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value of this contract to $97,039,769. Work will be performed in Washington, D.C., and is expected to be completed by May 2004. Contract funds in the amount of $2,485,345 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Internet, and one offer was received. The Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00173-99-C-2025).
Strand Hunt Construction, Kirkland, Wash., is being awarded a $13,517,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a two-story medical clinic connected to a single-story logistics building consisting of office space and warehouse storage. The clinic building will feature non-combustible structural steel construction with concrete slab on metal decking. The logistics building features a metal and high-bay warehouse space. Both buildings require heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Site work includes concrete paving, landscaping and an irrigation system, and improvement to utilities systems. Demolition of six modular buildings and two warehouses is also part of the project, including asbestos abatement. Work will be performed at McChord AFB, Wash., and is expected to be completed by April 21, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Radian International, LLC, Austin, Texas, is being awarded a $9,821,454 delivery order amount to cost-plus-award-fee contract DACW41-94-D-9010 for work and services required for Operable Unit 2, remediation of lead-contaminated soil from residential yards, Phase IV. Work will be performed at Oronogo-Duinweg Mining Belt Superfund Site, Galena, Jasper County, Mo., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 4, 1999. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City, Mo., is the contracting activity.
