Orbital Sciences Corp., Germantown, Md., is being awarded a $16,530,125 firm-fixed-type contract to provide for the following components applicable to the Digital Terrain Equipment on the F-16 aircraft: 1,155 mega-data transfer cartridges with processors and batteries, 134 small computer system interface devices, and 20 upgraded data-transfer units. Less then one percent of this effort supports foreign military sales to Taiwan and the Netherlands. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Electric Boat Corp. Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $17,570,554 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-95-C-4030 for 240,000 man-hours of engineering technical services to support testing, ship installation and sea trials of the prototype ship service turbine generator set and the prototype main propulsion unit for the Virginia-class submarine. Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif. (90%), and Groton, Conn. (10%), and is expected to be completed by September 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
Rolls-Royce Allison, Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded a $6,131,360 priced basic ordering agreement order for procurement of 11,950 turbine engine vanes used on the T-56 engine supporting C-130, E-2/C-2 and P-3 aircraft. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and is expected to be completed by January 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
