  • indefinite quantity contract for x-ray systems, sub-systems or components. Nineteen proposals were solicited and 19 were received. OEC Medical Systems, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah, was awarded on July 20, 1999, a $50,000,000 indefinite quantity contract for x-ray systems, sub-systems or components. Siemens Medical Systems, Iselin, N.J., was awarded on July 20, 1999, a $20,000,000 indefinite quantity contract for magnetic resonance imaging systems. Sixteen proposals were solicited and six were received. Work will be performed in Erlangen, Germany, Japan and the Netherlands, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 19, 2000. NAVY

Helix Electric, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $34,965,000 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction to change the base and family housing electrical overhead systems to underground systems at Keesler Air Force Base. This contract contains an option, which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value of this contract to $36,247,000. Work will be performed in Biloxi, Miss., and is expected to be completed by July 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 43 proposals solicited under Phase I and 12 offers were received. There were four offers received under Phase II. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, North Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-99-C-0883).

Bechtel Technical Services, Inc., Machinery Apparatus Operation, Schenectady, N.Y., is executing a $6,486,500 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification for nuclear propulsion components. Work will be performed in Schenectady, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-96-C-4052).

ARMY

Alliant Defense Electronic Systems Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is being awarded a $2,144,217 increment as part of a $13,545,604 modification to cost-plus-fixed-fee contract DAAE30-98-C-1074, for the development, fabrication and testing of a smart 120 mm munitions for the Abrams Tank. Work will be performed in Clearwater, Fla. (79.01); and Rocket City, W.Va. (20.99%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were three bids solicited on Jan. 20, 1998, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Co., dba Raytheon Systems Co., Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $2,144,217 increment as part of a $13,365,639 modification to cost-plus-incentive-fee contract DAAE30-98-C-1079, for the development, fabrication and testing of a smart 120 mm munitions for the Abrams Tank. Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas (73.14%) and St. Petersburg, Fla. (26.86%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were three bids solicited on Jan. 20, 1998, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., is the contracting activity.

Kilgore Operations, Alliant Techsystems Inc., Toone, Tenn., is being awarded $5,095,668 (base year total) as part of a $14,013,087 (total if all options are exercised) firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase of 78,552 Infrared Decoy Flares (MJU-10/B). Work will be performed in Toone**, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by Feb. 28, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were three bids solicited on Feb. 26, 1999, and three bids were received. CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Zerimar Corp*., San Jose, Calif., is being awarded a $2,800,000 increment as part of a $6,952,930 firm-fixed-price contract for the raising of levees from Riverside Avenue Bridge to Highway One Bridge, approximately one mile, that range in height from two to five feet. The contractor will take into consideration hydraulic uncertainty and future hydrologic conditions. The effort also includes overbuilding the landside of the levee and planting trees, shrubs and grasses, along with installation of an irrigation system, with a two-year maintenance period of the plantings. Work will be performed in Santa Cruz, Calif., and is expected to be completed by July 19, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 50 bids solicited on May 28, 1999, and seven bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento, Calif., is the contracting activity (DACW05-99-C-0050).
