ARMY

Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee, Jonesborough, Tenn., is being awarded $142,672 as part of a $26,633,000 time and material contract for engineering and manufacturing support services in the research and development of heavy metal ammunition and other military unique components. Work will be performed in Jonesborough, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2005. Of the total contract funds, $142,672 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on Jan. 31, 2000, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAE30-00-D-1010).

NAVY

BAE Systems (formerly GEC Marconi), Wayne, N.J., is being awarded a $13,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity sole source contract for systems engineering and integration support for Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Engineering Manufacturing Design (EMD) Low Volume Terminals (LVT). The MIDS LVT provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital data and voice communications capability for ship and air platforms. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J., and is expected to be completed by June 2001. Contract funds will not expire by the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was awarded on a sole source basis and was announced in the Commerce Business Daily and the SPAWAR Business Opportunities web site. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-00-D-2102).

AIR FORCE

Cycorp, Inc., Austin, Texas, is being awarded an $8,504,113 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide for design, development, and delivery of the Knowledge Rich Acquisition of Knowledge from Experts who are Non-Logicians (KRAKEN) software system. This program, which will support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Rapid Knowledge Formation Program, will allow teams of Subject Matter Experts to rapidly input and extract technical data related to a range of research and development projects. Expected contract completion date is November 2003. Negotiation completion date was June 6, 2000. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, NY, is the contracting activity (F30602-00-C-0160).
