AIR FORCE

United Technologies Corp., West Palm Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $352,500,000 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for various spares through December 2008 for the TF-33 engine on the B-52 aircraft. Funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. Expected contract completion date is Dec. 31, 2008. Solicitation issue date was July 12, 2000. McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded an $88,400,000 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for incorporation of the Extended Range Fuel Containment System (ERFCS) into production of 50 C-17 aircraft. The ERFCS will enhance the fuel capacity of the aircraft. Expected contract completion date is September 2005. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity. Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc., Herndon, Va., was awarded on Oct. 3, 2000 a $14,367,807 option to a fixed-price contract to provide for FY2000 operation, maintenance and support of the Counterdrug Surveillance and Control System. Expected contract completion date is September 2001. Air Combat Command Contracting Squadron, Langley AFB, Va., is the contracting activity. Sharon Potter, (757) 764-9371, is the POC. NAVY

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $161,000,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and design development engineering services in support of the Future Aircraft Carrier Program, CVNX. The development work will include systems specifications, design weight estimates, preliminary logistics data, electromagnetic aircraft launching system design integration, and preliminary construction planning. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-00-C-2108).

The University of Texas at Austin, Applied Research Laboratory, Austin, Texas, is executing a not-to-exceed $27,191,719 modification to previously awarded contract N00039-96-D-0051 to exercise an option that will provide support for specific Navy and other government programs through research, development, engineering, test and evaluation. Areas contracted for include the study of naval warfare and Department of Defense problems involving acoustics, electromagnetics, and other related essential capabilities. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $249,429,206. Work will be performed in Austin, Texas, and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

The University of Washington, Applied Physics Laboratory, Seattle, Wash., is executing a not-to-exceed $14,898,096 modification to previously awarded contract N00039-96-D-0061 to exercise an option that will provide support for specific Navy and other government programs through research, development, engineering, test and evaluation. Areas contracted for include experimental physical oceanography, acoustic propagation, underwater instrumentation and equipment, marine corrosion, acoustic systems, simulations and signal processing techniques, exploders and fuses and other related technologies. This contract contains options, which if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $78,030,705. Work will be performed in Seattle, Wash., and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Joseph Webb Foods, Vista, Calif., is being awarded a $33,450,000 firm-fixed-price indefinite quantity contract for prime vendor full line food distribution. There were 96 proposals solicited and five received. Work is expected to be completed by Jan. 12, 2002. Funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0300-01-D-2995).

ARMY CORRECTION

The announcement of Oct. 11, 2000 for TRW, Columbia, Md. listed an incorrect contracting activity. The Maryland Procurement Office, Fort George G. Meade, Md., is the correct activity. (MDA904-96-C-0035)
