NAVY

SOLPAC Inc. dba Soltek Pacific, San Diego, Calif.; R. A. Burch Construction Company, Inc., Ramona, Calif.; Harper/Nielsen Dillingham Builders, Inc. (JV) San Diego, Calif.; T. B. Penick & Sons, San Diego, Calif.; Valenzuela Engineering, Santa Maria, Calif.; and R. Q. Construction, Inc., Bonsall Calif., are being awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity, multiple award construction contract. The total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000. SOLPAC Inc. dba Solteck Pacific is being awarded the initial task order in the amount of $2,892,744 (minimum guarantee included) for relocation of a portable storage building, remodeling of existing locker rooms and construction of a new two-story classroom building at the Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, Calif. Expected completion is January 2002. The remaining aggregate of the $150,000,000 will potentially be shared among all six contractors with each being awarded the minimum guarantee of $50,000. Work will be performed within Arizona, California, New Mexico, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Utah., and is expected to be completed in by January 2006. Ninety percent of the work will be throughout Southern California. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 16 proposals received. These six contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, California, is the contracting activity (N68711-01-D-6215/6216/6217/6218/6219/6220).

McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $35,304,098 modification to definitize a previously awarded advance acquisition contract (N00019-00-C-0363) to a firm fixed price contract. This modification provides for the remanufacture of two Spanish AV-8B aircraft from the day attack configuration to the radar attack configuration under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (63%), and Brough, England (37%), and is expected to be completed in July 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Litton Guidance & Control Systems, Woodland Hills, Calif., is being awarded an $8,764,890 ceiling-priced order for 57 Carrier Airborne Inertial Navigation System (CAINS II) used on various aircraft. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be completed by May 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N00383-96-G-M128) (Order 5386).

ARMY

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Ariz., was awarded on Jan. 26, 2001, a $44,707,518 letter contract to be definitized as firm-fixed-price, with a not-to-exceed cumulative total of $89,415,036. This procurement is for 1,007 Stinger Block I Missiles and associated system hardware. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (60%); Farmington, N.M. (20%), and at various locations outside of the continental United States (20%), and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 15, 2000. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-01-C-0042).

General Electric Co., Lynn, Mass., was awarded on Jan. 26, 2001, a $14,578,025 firm-fixed-price contract for 25 spare engines (701c). Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 20, 1997. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAJ09-97-D-0196).

Oshkosh Truck Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., is being awarded a $2,281,414 modification to firm-fixed-price multi-year contract DAAE07-99-C-M007 (cumulative total $9,342,653), to incorporate engineering change proposals for Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements (MTVR) for the U.S. Marine Corps. Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on July 31, 1998, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.
