AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $40,000,000 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for one month (March 2001) advance procurement in support of Low Rate Initial Production of thirteen F-22 aircraft and associated equipment (Lot II). The work will be performed at The Boeing Co., Seattle, Wash. (52%), Lockheed Martin Corp., Ft. Worth, Texas (35%), and other locations. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-00/0020, P00002).

Booz-Allen and Hamilton, McLean, Va., is being awarded an $10,848,952 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for telecommunications engineering support to the Military Satellite Communication (MILSATCOM) Joint Terminal Engineering office in conduction user-to-user systems engineering to integrate satellite communication terminals into DoD military satellite communication architecture. This system will insure interoperability for the warfighter. The work is expected to be completed February 2002. There was one proposal received. Solicitation began January 2001; negotiations were completed February 2001. At this time, $5,476,975 of the contract funds have been obligated. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-01/F-0001).

Applied Technology Associates, Albuquerque, N.M., is being awarded a $10,500,000 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide for follow-on support in the critical technology research areas of active adaptive optical compensation, passive imaging INTEL (Intelligence) gathering laser radars and new Micro Electronically Machined Systems (MEMS) or liquid crystal beam control and tracking technologies. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Solicitation began December 2000; negotiations were completed February 2001. At this time, $130,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., is the contracting activity (F29601-01/D-0051).

ARMY

General Dynamics Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., is being awarded a $31,548,629 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-98-C-N002, to incorporate assembly labor cost to convert 135 sets of vehicle material to full Abrams Integrated Management for the 21st Century (AIM XXI) vehicles. Work will be performed in Lima, Ohio (77%); Scranton, Pa. (20%), and Muskegon, Mich. (3%), and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2002. Of the total contract funds, $28,712,182 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole-source contract initiated on July 23, 1998. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

Lobar Construction Services Inc., Dillsburg, Pa., is being awarded a $5,270,720 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a split face concrete structure to house fire, police and safety personnel. Work will be performed in New Cumberland, Pa., and is expected to be completed by June 18, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 56 bids solicited on Nov. 14, 2000, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore, Md., is the contracting activity (DACA31-01-C-0011).

NAVY

United Defense, L.P., Armament Systems Division, Minneapolis, Minn., is being awarded a $31,060,074 modification to previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract N00024-99-C-5206 for the procurement of three 5"/62 MK 45 Mod 4 gun mounts. The 5"/62 caliber MK 45 Mod 4 is a fully automatic naval gun capable of support anti-surface, strike, fire support and anti-air warfare missions. The new Mod 4 configuration will support the extended range guided munition and will be installed on DDG 99 through DDG 101. Work will be performed in Minneapolis, Minn. (60%) and Louisville, Ky. (40%), and is expected to be completed by August 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

National Technologies Associates Inc., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $12,837,648 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for warehouse and material control support services in support of the Naval Aviation Depot at Jacksonville, Fla. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla. (98%); Beaufort, S.C. (1%); and Norfolk, Va. (1%); and is expected to be completed by March 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured by electronic solicitation with 11 companies attending the pre-proposal conference and one offer received. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-01-D-0024).

Southwest Marine, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $7,026,026 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract N00024-99-C-2312 for the Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) of USS Lassen (DDG 82). The PSA includes engineering and management support; effort and material to perform specified work items inclusive of tests and post report sea trials and to support operational propulsion plant examination and final contract trials; to correct related deficiencies, non-standard equipment and technical manuals. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by November 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
