ARMY

American Ordnance LLC, Pittsburgh, Kan., was awarded on April 5, 2001, a $28,116,492 firm-fixed-price contract for FY01 high explosive projectiles, 155 mm, M107 (load, assemble and pack). Work will be performed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by March 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 22, 2001. The U.S. Army Operations Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAA09-98-G-0011).

Tetra Tech Inc., Pasadena, Calif., and Earth Tech. Inc., Long Beach, Calif., are each being awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity task order contract, DACA05-01-D-0005 and DACA05-01-D-0006 respectively, together valued at (not-to-exceed) $16,000,000 (basic contract period only), with each contractor being awarded $160,000 at this time. Task orders will be written under the contract as required. The contractors will provide services to support the achievement of environmental objectives in the areas of environmental compliance, pollution prevention, restoration, environmental planning and conservation, Air Force general planning and geographic information systems support. Work will be performed at environmental sites at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Air Force Plant #42, and test ranges within the Greater Southwest Range Complex. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 155 bids solicited on Nov. 17, 2000, and nine bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento, Calif., is the contracting activity.

McKnight Construction Co., Inc., Augusta, Ga., is being awarded a $7,377,323 firm-fixed-price contract to design and construct a media operations complex building, supporting parking lots, storm drainage, security fencing, landscaping and utilities. Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 20, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were five bids solicited on Oct. 27, 2000, and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (DACA21-01-C-0017).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

National Engineering & Contracting Co., Strongsville, Ohio, was awarded on April 6, 2001, a $1,000,000 increment as part of a $9,206,700 firm-fixed-price construction contract to build an intake tower and drill a tunnel through the dam at Bluestone Lake. Work will be performed in Hinton, W.Va., and is expected to be completed by May 6, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on Dec. 14, 2000, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington, W.Va., is the contracting activity (DACW69-01-C-0007).

NAVY

Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics and Sensor Systems, Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $24,327,281 modification to previously awarded fixed-price contract (N00024-96-C-6226) to exercise options to provide sonar/combat control/architecture subsystems for NSSN Virginia Class C3I requirements. Work will be performed in Manassas, Va. (60%), and Portsmouth, R.I. (40%), and is expected to be completed by December 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
