ARMY

United Defense Limited Partnership Ground System Division, York, Penn., is being awarded a $75,406,518 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-01-C-N030 for conversion of cost reimbursable long-lead contract requirements to a definitized firm-fixed-price contract for 44 M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (HERCULES) vehicles and HERCULES unique concurrent spares. The Army is funding 29 of the vehicles; the Marine Corps is funding 15. Work will be performed in York and Bedford, Penn., (63%); Muskegon, Plymouth and Lansing, Mich., (20%); Racine and Milwaukee, Wis., (6%); Anniston, Ala., (4%); Aiken, S.C., (2%); and 5% in other locations. This is a sole source contract initiated on October 17, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

CAPCO Inc., Grand Junction, Colo., is being awarded a $22,740,040 firm-fixed-price contract for 90,181 M16A1 modification kits in support of the M16 rifle. Work will be performed in Grand Junction, Colo., and is expected to be completed by March 17, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on March 12, and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAE20-01-C-0061).

United Defense Limited Partnership Ground System Division, York, Penn., is being awarded a $21,854, 114 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-99-C-0001 for 13 M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (HERCULES) vehicle kits in support of the Egyptian co-production contract. The dollar amount of this award also includes a re-opener (downward adjustment only) for warranty. Work will be performed in York and Bedford, Penn., (63%); Muskegon, Plymouth and Lansing, Mich., (20%); Racine and Milwaukee, Wis., (6%); Anniston, Ala., (4%); Aiken, S.C., (2%); and 5% in other locations. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 17, 2000. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Bush & Burchett Inc., Allen, Ky., was awarded a $5,000,000 increment on April 26 as part of a $12,055,531 firm-fixed-price construction contract for a non-structural project at a redevelopment site. Work will be performed in Grundy, Va., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web on Dec. 28, 2000, and seven proposals were received. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Huntington, W.Va., is the contracting activity (DACW69-01-C-0009).

NAVY

Lend Lease Actus LLC, Napa, Calif., is being awarded a $17,899,231 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction of 100 new family housing units by replacement of the existing 100 family housing units at Naval Air Station Lemoore. Work will be performed in Lemoore, Calif., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 63 proposals solicited and one offer received. The Engineering Field Activity West, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, San Bruno, Calif., is the contracting activity (N62474-00-C-3039).

Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio, is being awarded a $15,000,000 cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task order contract to perform environmental engineering services. The value of the first task order is $155,176 and is for the development of the Remediation Innovative Technology Seminar and technology tools. The seminar will be presented to the following Naval Facilities Engineering Command locations in the Fall of 2001: Engineering Services Center, Port Hueneme, Calif.; Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va.; Southern Division, Charleston, S.C.; Engineering Field Activity Northeast, Philadelphia, Pa.; Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Washington, D.C.; Engineering Field Activity Northwest, Poulsbo, Wash.; Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif.; and Pacific Division, Honolulu, Hawaii. This contract contains options, which if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $75,000,000. Work will be performed at various Navy and Marine Corps installations world wide, and the expected completion date is April 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website with two offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Contracts Office, Port Hueneme, Calif., is the contracting activity (N47408-01-D-8207).

C Construction Company, Tyler, Texas, is being awarded a $10,659,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of five armory buildings for storage, maintenance and distribution of weapons and ordnance equipment at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, N.C., and is expected to be completed by May 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 28 proposals solicited and four offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N62470-99-C-9158).

General Electric Aircraft Engines, General Electric Company, Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $9,900,000 modification to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive contract (N00019-97-C-0114) to provide additional funding in support of the low-rate initial production (LRIP) II/III of F414-GE400 engines for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass., and is expected to be completed by December 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Soltek Pacific, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded Task Order 0002 at $9,647,116 under an indefinite-quantity multiple award construction contract for the Weapons/Combat System Integration Laboratory at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme. The work to be performed provides for all architectural and engineering design, site demolition and construction of a complete and useable laboratory including site utilities, building systems, equipment, finishes, fixtures, site improvements, and off-site work. Work will be performed in Port Hueneme, Calif., and is expected to be completed by August 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively negotiated with 120 proposals solicited, 16 offers received and award made on January 29, 2001. The total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000, which includes the base period and four option years. The multiple contractors (six in number) may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the existing contract. Four proposals were received for this task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68711-01-D-6215).

AIR FORCE

Boeing Defense and Space Group, Wichita, Kan., is being awarded a $9,000,000 (estimated) firm-fixed-price/time and materials contract to provide sustaining engineering services from May through December 2001 in support of the KC-135 series aircraft. At this time, $2,200,521 of the funds have been obligated. Solicitation began October 2000; negotiations were completed March 2001. Orbital Sciences Corp., Fairchild Defense, Germantown, Md., is being awarded a $5,780,790 firm-fixed-price contract to provide components applicable data transport equipment on the F-16 and A-10 aircraft, 213 80-megabyte data transfer cartridges and 103 upgraded data transfer units. Solicitation began February 2001; negotiations were completed April 2001. Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (F42620-01-C-0043)
