AIR FORCE

Engineering-Environmental Management Incorporated, Littleton, Colo., is being awarded a $100,000,000 firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide for architect-engineer environmental services for Air Engineering and Training Command. This effort will include environmental assessments, resource surveys and community relation plans. This is the first of four contractors to participate in this program. At this time, $50,000 of the funds has been obligated. This work is to be complete August 2006. Firms were solicited via Commerce Business Daily notice in April 2001 and 38 firms submitted proposals. Negotiations were completed August 2001. Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, is the contracting activity (F41689-01-D-0012).

Time Warner Telecom, San Antonio, Texas, is being awarded a $7,000,000 firm-fixed-price modification contract to provide for upgrade of the opticle carrier (OC) 12 sonet ring to an OC-48 sonet ring and provide security measures to make the ring DISN complaint in exchange for a 3-year time extension of the current contract. At this time, $125,000 of the funds has been obligated. This work is to be complete September 2006. Headquarters 38th Engineering Installation Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., is the contracting activity (F34608-98-H-5019/0001 0006).

NAVY

S. B. Ballard Construction Company, Virginia Beach, Va., is being awarded a $10,948,970 firm-fixed-price contract for construction, alteration, repair, and improvements of government facilities for main Navy Exchange at Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va. This project is to construct a 12,262 square meter, two-story main exchange for retail and services operations. Existing building 3431 will be renovated and incorporated into the building complex. Work will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 69 proposals solicited and five offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N62470-00-C-0071).

Talley Defense Systems, Mesa, Ariz., is being awarded a $6,734,000 modification to a previously awarded fixed-price contract (N00178-00-C-1016) for production of 5,200 Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon (SMAW) High Explosive Dual Purpose Encased Assault Rockets (HEDP EARs) for the U. S. Marine Corps (USMC). Work will be performed at Mesa, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by December 2003. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Va., is the contracting activity.
