DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

PRO Petroleum Inc., Laguna Hills, Calif., was awarded on Sept. 11, 2001, a $31,654,798 fixed-price with economic price adjustment type contract for 30,186,900 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense agencies in the states of Arizona, California and Nevada. Work is expected to be completed by August 31, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Proposals were solicited on the web and 18 responded. American Apparel Inc., Selma, Ala., is being awarded a maximum amount of $23,381,400 firm-fixed-price with indefinite-quantity delivery type contract for woodland temperate camouflage coats and for enhanced hot weather coats for the U.S. Army. U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This contract is the third option year. Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 14, 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 64 proposals solicited, and 15 responded. Golden Manufacturing Co.* (in HUBZone), Golden, Miss., is being awarded a maximum amount of $20,111,940 firm-fixed-price with indefinite-quantity type contract for combat, temperate woodland camouflage coats and for enhanced, hot weather woodland camouflage coats for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. This contract is for the third year option. Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 14, 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year with fiscal year 2002 stock funds. Phoenix Fuel Co., Phoeniz, Ariz., was awarded on Sept. 11, 2001, a $6,869,169 fixed-price with economic price adjustment type contract for 7,465,200 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel for federal civilian agencies in Arizona. Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, 2004. Contract funds will be paid with stock funds and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Proposals were solicited on the Web, and 16 responded. The contracting activity is the Defense Energy Support Center, Fort Belvoir, Va. (SP0600-02-D-4503)

DEFENSE COMMISSARY AGENCY

Swift & Co., Greeley, Colo., was awarded a $19,552,158 requirements-type contract on Oct. 12, 2001, to provide and deliver fresh pork products to Defense Commissary Agency stores in eastern continental United States. The pork will be produced in Swift's Greeley, Colo., plant. The contract completion date is July 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 32 firms solicited, and six proposals were received. The contracting activity is the Defense Commissary Agency, Subsistence Contracting Division, Fort Lee, Va. (DECA02-01-D-0022)

NAVY

VSE Corp., Alexandria, Va., is being awarded a $13,767,890 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, level of effort contract to provide engineering and technical support services in 12 general task areas in support of Naval Sea Systems Command Indian Head and other federal agencies in the disciplines of Indian Head's core responsibilities and is intended to provide quick reaction technical expertise and quick reaction support necessary to maintain an edge in responsiveness to the fleet. This contract contains four options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $72,473,856. Work will be performed in Indian Head, Md., and is expected to be completed in October 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Commerce Business Daily and Internet with two proposals received.
