Burch Construction Co., Inc., Ramona, Calif., is being awarded a $6,879,716 task order under a previously awarded indefinite-quantity multiple award construction contract (N68711-01-D-6216) for the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (EWTGPAC) training support facility at Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, Calif. The work provides for hazardous material demolition and disposal of existing buildings number 313, 314, 315, 286 and the east wing of building 165, paved concrete yards, paved parking areas and roads, the construction of a new facility with two-story and one-story structures, and requiring all necessary utility services, on site improvements, access roads and off-site work as required. The total contract amount for this task order is not to exceed $7,105,116 (base bid and two options). Work will be performed in Coronado, Calif., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively negotiated with 120 proposals solicited, 16 offers received, and award made on January 29, 2001. The total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000, which includes the base period and four option years. The multiple contractors (six in number) may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the existing contract. One proposal was received for this task order.
