ARMY

TRW Systems of Fairfax, Va., is awarded a task order for $43,745,533 under fixed-price-cost-plus-fixed-price contract for effort required to design and deploy an automated travel manager system to all of the Department of Defense. This contract further requires the conduct of training, operations and maintenance, software development and fielding support. Funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Work will be performed in Fairfax and will be completed Sept. 30, 2006. The Communications and Electronics Command Acquisition Center in Alexandria, Va., is the contracting office (DAMTO1-98-D-1005).

AM General Corp., Mishawaka, Ind., is awarded a firm fixed-price, three-year requirements contract for $42,462,084. Funds will be determined with each delivery order. The contract is for potentially 5,443 High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle engines with containers. Bids were solicited on the World Wide Web, and one bid was received on Dec. 28, 2001. Work will be completed in Franklin, Ohio (68%), and Mishawaka, Ind. (32%), and is to be completed by July 25, 2005. The Tank Automotive Command, Warren, Mich. is the contracting activity. Astronautics Corp. of America, Milwaukee is awarded a five-year requirements contract for $14,105,335. Funds will be determined on individual delivery orders. The contract is for a command instrument processor (CIP) CP-2036A for the UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter. A sole-source request for proposal was issued on August 29, 2001. Work will be accomplished in Milwaukee and will be completed by Feb. 14, 2007. Pease Construction Inc., Lakewood, Wash., is being awarded a $9,783,278 firm-fixed price contract for sources to construct 14 standard design, earth-mound, oval-arch munitions storage igloos, ammunition holding area, ammunition inspection facility, Intrusion Detection System with central monitor panel in the administration facility and control panel at the military police station. Igloos may be either cast-in-place concrete or precast, or a combination thereof. Work also includes lightning protection, security lights and floodlights. Supporting facilities include access road, all utilities and information systems, site improvements, and security fencing. Work will be performed in Fort Lewis, Wash., and is to be completed by May 28, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 50 bids solicited on Dec. 11, 2001, and 12 bids were received. The Seattle District Corps of Engineers, Seattle, Wash., is the contracting activity (DACA67-02-C-0203).

General Dynamics Government Systems Corp., of Taunton, Mass., is awarded a modification for $9,248,675 to a firm-fixed-price contract. The modification will exercise options for common hardware/software items for Army tactical command and control systems computers, and assisted peripherals for battlefield commanders. Work will be performed in Taunton, Mass., and is estimated to be completed by April 10, 2005. Communications and Electronics Command Acquisition Center, Ft. NAVY

Undersea Sensor Systems Inc., Columbia City, Ind., is being awarded a $16,240,890 firm-fixed-price contract for 32,645 AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys and associated data. The AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys are dropped from various airborne platforms and utilized for search and detection of submerged submarines. Work will be performed in Columbia City, Ind. (60%) and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada (40%), and is to be completed by February 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured with three proposals solicited and two offers received. Sparton Defense Electronics, De Leon Springs, Fla., is being awarded a $12,991,642 firm-fixed-price contract for procurement of 25,024 AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys and associated data. The AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys are dropped from various airborne platforms and utilized for search and detection of submerged submarines. Work will be performed in De Leon Springs, Fla., and is expected to be completed by February 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured with three proposals solicited and two offers received. Kollmorgen Corp., Electro Optical Division, Northampton, Mass., was awarded a $12,404,997 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of nine MK-46 Optical Sight Systems (OSS). The OSS is an integral component of the MK-34 Gun Weapon System that includes the 5-inch MK-45 Gun System and the M-160 Gun Computer System. The primary function of the OSS is to provide a safety checksight to allow the gun operator to determine safe firing zones during gun operation. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value to $25,184,997. Work will be performed in Northampton, Mass., and is to be completed by April 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Internet with one offer received. Sparton Defense Electronics, De Leon Springs, Fla., is being awarded a $9,578,798 firm-fixed-price contract for 8,092 AN/SSQ-62E sonobuoys and associated data.
