ARMY

Simula Safety Systems Inc., Phoenix, Ariz., was awarded on Aug. 22, 2002, a delivery order amount of $1,537,500 as part of a $26,500,000 firm-fixed-price contract for 75 UH-60A/L CABS B-Kits. Work will be performed in Tempe, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by February 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on May 17, 2002. The Aviation Applied Technology Directorate, Fort Eustis, Va., is the contracting activity (DAAH10-02-D-0003).

Hensel Phelps Construction Co., Austin, Texas, is being awarded a $12,435,000 firm-fixed-price contract for design and construction of a tactical equipment shop. Work will be performed at Fort Hood, Texas, and is expected to be completed by January 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 46 bids solicited on March 11, 2002, and five bids were received. The U. S. Army Engineer District, Fort Worth, Texas, is the contracting activity (DACA63-02-C-0020).

BAE Systems, Integrated Defense Solutions Inc., Austin, Texas, is being awarded a $10,230,052 firm-fixed-price contract for 396,360 M206 infrared countermeasure flares. Work will be performed in East Camden, Ark., and is expected to be completed by April 24, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on April 18, 2002, and two bids were received. The U. S. Army Operations Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAA09-02-C-0044).

TECTUM Corp., Spokane, Wash., was awarded on Aug. 23, 2002, a $10,712,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a U.S. Army Reserve Center organizational maintenance shop and an area maintenance support activity (marine). Work will be performed in Tacoma, Wash., and is expected to be completed by Feb. 25, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 171 bids solicited on June 19, 2002, and seven bids were received. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle, Wash., is the contracting activity (DACA67-02-C-0214).

Kilgore Flares Company L.L.C., Toone, Tenn., is being awarded a $9,446,580 firm-fixed-price contract for 484,440 M206 infrared countermeasure flares. Work will be performed in Toone, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by April 24, 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on April 18, 2002, and two bids were received. The U. S. Army Operations Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAA09-02-C-0043).

EMC Corp., McLean, Va., was awarded on Aug. 22, 2002, a $5,981,250 modification to a blanket purchase agreement contract for the Disaster Recovery Project/Storage Area Network. Work will be performed in Washington, D.C., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 21, 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were five bids solicited on July 10, 2002, and four bids were received. The Virginia Contracting Activity, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (MDA908-02-A-0032).

NAVY

Innovative Technical Solutions Inc.*, Walnut Creek, Calif., is being awarded a maximum amount of $25,000,000/guaranteed minimum of $50,000 (base period) indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract for environmental remediation action services. The work to be performed provides for environmental remediation, engineering studies and related services for base realignment and closure operations with the work primarily located at the former Hunters Point Shipyard, San Francisco. Work will be performed in San Francisco, Calif., and is expected to be completed August 2003. The contract term is for one year or not to exceed $25,000,000 with the option to extend for two additional years. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured as an 8(a) small business set-aside under the Small Business Administration via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website with 11 offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68711-02-D-8213).

General Electric Aircraft Engines, Lynn, Mass., is being issued a $7,551,696 order under a previously awarded requirements contract (N00393-01-D-004M) for procurement of 421 F-404 engine afterburner flameholders supporting F/A-18 aircraft. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. General Electric Aircraft Engines is the only qualified supplier for the subject item. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.
