ARMY

Poole & Kent Co./Gaudreau Inc., Baltimore, Md., was awarded on Sept. 30, 2002, a $38,129,517 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of an advanced chemistry laboratory. Work will be performed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 51 bids solicited on Dec. 18, 2001, and six bids were received. The U. S. Army Engineer District, Baltimore, Md., is the contracting activity (DACA31-02-C-0044).

McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Co., Mesa, Ariz., was awarded on Sept. 30, 2002, a $18,338,539 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a MYI reliability and safety improvement for the Longitudinal and Directional Servoactuator System redesign management of ratable pool. Work will be performed in Mesa, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 22, 2002. The U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH23-01-C-0092).

Alutiiq Management Services L.L.C., Anchorage, Alaska, was awarded on Sept. 30, 2002, a $17,886,660 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of live fire/non-live fire, up-to-platoon-sized training facility. Work will be performed in Fort Richardson, Alaska, and is expected to be completed by October 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a sole source contract initiated on July 15, 2002. The U. S. Army Engineer District, Anchorage, Alaska, is the contracting activity (DACA85-02-C-0023).

Ana Mac Inc., Palo Alto, Calif., was awarded on Sept. 30, 2002, an $8,632,170 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to conduct research for the discovery and development of a novel for the treatment of serious bacterial and fungal infections. Work will be performed in Palo Alto, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 15, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were an unknown number of bids solicited via a broad agency announcement on Sept. 4, 2001, and 286 bids were received. The U. S. Army Materiel Command, Research Triangle Park, N.C, is the contracting activity (DAAD19-02-C-0098).

Waynesboro Construction Co. Inc., Frederick, Md., was awarded on Sept. 30, 2002, a $6,964,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a pre-engineered metal storage building. Work will be performed at Fort Detrick, Md., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 40 bids solicited on Aug. 12, 2002, and seven bids were received. The U. S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, Fort Detrick, Md., is the contracting activity (DAMD17-02-C-0139).

NAVY

Raytheon Systems Co., McKinney, Texas, is being awarded a $22,242,220 firm-fixed-price order to manufacture 28 turrets for the AN/AAS-44 FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared Radar) used on H-60 aircraft. Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas, and is to be completed by June 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N00383-98-G-006J, Order 0035).

Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas, and is to be completed by June 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. Titan Systems Corp., Los Angeles, Calif., is being awarded a $12,692,318 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract for engineering and technical services in support of Navy Communications & Associated Electromagnetic and Platform Support Systems. A majority of the work shall be in support of the Navy Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Communications Program, Submarine High Data Rate Program, EHF Tactical Interface Processor and associated satellite systems. Work will be performed in Los Angeles, Calif. (60%); San Diego, Calif. (10%); Manassas, Va. (10%); Colorado Springs, Colo. (10%); and Jacksonville, Fla. (10%), and is to be completed by October 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via Internet, with one offer received. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport Division, Newport, R.I., is the contracting activity (N66604-03-D-0018).

Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $12,529,560 fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-96-C-6226) for incorporation of Engineering Change Proposal 016-NSSN Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I) System. The C3I System will be installed on NSSN Class submarines and primarily provides sonar, combat control, exterior communications, electronic surveillance measures and imaging functions, along with supporting subsystems. Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., and is to be completed by March 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Kollmorgen Corp., Electro-Optical Division, Northampton Mass., is being awarded a $9,650,756 fixed-price contract for production of Universal Modular Mast Systems for installation on Virginia and SSGN (guided missile) class submarines. This contract contains options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $47,056,707. Work will be performed in Bologna, Italy (70%), and Northampton, Mass. (30%), and is to be completed by November 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was awarded on a sole-source basis. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-03-C-6200).

DEFENSE LOGISITICS AGENCY

Dorothea Knitting Mills, USA Ltd.*, New York, N.Y., is being awarded $15,625,173 (exclusive of government furnished material), firm fixed price for 1,984,464 wool berets of various colors for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. Work will also be performed in Glade Spring, Va. This contract is a 2-year contract with three 1-year options. Performance completion date is scheduled for Aug. 3, 2005. Funds have been obligated for the current fiscal year (fiscal year 2003). There were 154 proposals solicited, and 13 responded. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0100-03-C-0303).

AIR FORCE

Eagle Tool and Machine Co., Springfield, Ohio, is being awarded a $5,210,569 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 91 main landing gear yoke assemblies applicable to the C-5 aircraft. Total funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by September 2006. Solicitation began June 2002, and negotiations were completed September 2002. Headquarters Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (F42630-02-C-0402).
