CONTRACTS

 

NAVY

 

Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co., Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $107,591,106 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-00-C-2108 for continued CVN 21 pre-system development and design efforts, including engineering design and related efforts, for the Future Aircraft Carrier Program.  Work will be performed in Newport News, Va. (58%), and Groton, Conn. (42%), and is expected to be completed by April 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.

 

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co., Sunnyvale, Calif., is being awarded a $19,664,000 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to provide for long lead material required for the fiscal year 2004 follow-on production of the TRIDENT II (D5) missile system.  This unpriced contractual action will be definitized on or about Oct. 1, 2003.  The definitized fiscal year 2004 TRIDENT II (D5) production and deployed systems support contract will be a cost-reimbursable, multiple-incentive contract with incentives on cost, reliability, quality, readiness and flight termination.  Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2007.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00030-03-C-0100).

 

BAE Systems, Nashua, N.H., is being awarded a $10,464,372 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of 10 OE-120 antenna groups for the U.S. Navy (6) and for the governments of Korea (3) and Japan (1).  The OE-120 antenna group is one of two major subsystems that provide a centralized identification system for fleet tactical ships, including DDG-51, CVN and foreign military sales (FMS) class ships.  This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($6,269,016; 60%) and the governments of Korea ($3,146,517; 30%) and Japan ($1,048,839; 10%) under the FMS Program.  Work will be performed in Nashua, N.H., and is expected to be completed in December 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-03-C-0050).

 

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

 

Camel Manufacturing Co.*, Pioneer, Tenn., is being awarded a $9,246,300 firm-fixed-price type of contract for the modular command post complete system for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.  Performance completion date is March 7, 2004.  Contract funds will expire this fiscal year.  There were six solicitations, and two responded.  The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP0100-03-C-6003).

 

ARMY

 

MidEastern Builders Inc., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded a $5,310,350 firm-fixed-price contract for the construction of storm water pump station storm drainage piping.  Work will be performed at Langley Air Force Base, Va., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 15, 2004.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 80 bids solicited on Sept. 24, 2002, and 10 bids were received.  The U.S. Army Engineer District, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (DACA65-03-C-0048).
