AIR FORCE

 

            InDyne Inc., McLean, Va., is being awarded a $47,964,924 cost-plus-incentive-fee/award-fee with some cost reimbursement contract to provide for western range operations, communication and information acquisition to consolidate six existing contracting efforts into one comprehensive operations and maintenance contract for the 30th Space Wing (SW).  The objective of this program is to provide a single contractor for range operations, communications and information services required that support the 30th SW mission.  Locations of performance are Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.; California coastal sites (Pillar Point, Anderson Peak and Santa Barbara); Oahu Island (Wheeler Army Base, Ewa Beach and Kaena Point); and Molokai Island, Hawaii.  Total funds have been obligated.  This work will be complete by September 2011.  Solicitations began June 2002, and negotiations were completed May 2003.  The 30th SW, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04684-03-C-0050).

 

NAVY

 

            Harper Construction Co. Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded $12,384,000 for a firm-fixed-priced task order under previously awarded contract (N68711-02-D-8019) for fiscal year 2003 Project H-547, design/build Marine Palms Housing, Phase IV, at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.  The work includes the design and construction of 76 quality designed family housing units.  Work will be performed at Twentynine Palms, Calif., and is expected to be completed by May 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The basic contract was competitively procured via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website, with five offers received and award was made on March 29, 2002.  The total contract amount is not to exceed $150,000,000, which includes the base period and four option years.  The multiple contractors (three in number) may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the existing contract.  Three offers were received for this task order.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest Division, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

 

            Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $6,841,621 firm-fixed-price contract for the interim dry-docking of the USS Augusta (SSN 710).  This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $34,125,000.  Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by March 2004.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-03-C-4403).

 

            Insight Technology Inc., Londonderry, N.H., is being awarded a $6,393,600 fixed-price contract for close quarters battle sights.  The close quarters battle sight is a stand-alone bore-sightable thermal weapon mounted sight, which is compatible with current day optic sights used on the M-4 carbine weapons.  This contract directly supports Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, S.C.  Work will be performed in Londonderry, N.H., and is expected to be completed by May 2004.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N65236-03-C-7077).

 

            Hitt Contracting Inc., North Charleston, S.C., is being awarded a $6,323,225 firm-fixed-price contract for the construction of three aircraft maintenance units (AMUs) at Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, S.C.  The proposed AMUs will consist of three identical buildings, each containing 12,000 square feet of gross area for a total of 36,000 square feet of new construction.  The project also includes the demolition/relocation of approximately 41,000 square feet of existing aircraft maintenance facilities.  Work will be performed in Sumter, S.C., and is expected to be completed by June 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was competitively procured via the NAVFAC e-solicitation Web site, with 13 offers received.  Southern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-02-C-0503).
